No cigar
In 2006, after the competition I set in which I asked people to guess my middle name - no one did - I thought I'd try you out writing book reviews of the Blue Djinn of Babylon. The results were okay but none of these really impressed me enough to warrant sending anyone a selection of the top selling childrens' books on amazon.com. My fault. I should have suggested something else. Something easier perhaps, such as drawing characters from the books, in which case the winnerwould, without question, have been Isadora Cassab from Australia. She excelled herself in sending me a beautifully drawn poster featuring a number of scenes and characters from the books. So I've decided to send her a prize instead. And I'm going to try to devise a better competition for 2007. So watch this space.

Merry Christmas
To everyone who has taken part in this competition, thank you and merry Christmas, or happy holidays, or QWERTYUIOP if you prefer. I really do have a middle name for all you cynics out there who thought I would be cruel enough to set a competition that was impossible to win. Anyway,no one came up with the right name. Too bad. Remember if you want to write to me don't post a comment, rather send an email to pbk@pbkerr.com. I hope Father Christmas brings you that which you want most. He always came up trumps for me.

Middle Name
Still no correct guesses as to my middle name. Such amazingly exotic names you chose. It could have been Bob, or Barry, Bush or Blair. Fortunately it is none of these. I'm especially fortunate that it wasn't Bush or Blair.

Competition
Guess my middle name.
I'm often asked what the P.B. stands for. Someone in Illinois wondered if P.B. stood for Peanut Butter. Actually, I wish it did because I think Peanut Butter Kerr would be a fantastic name for an author. It's reasonably well known that my first name is Philip. But do you know what my middle name is? I will send a free signed copy of The Blue Djinn of Babylon to anyone who guesses what it is. No lists please. One middle name per entry. Post your entry in Comments, below.
